I never cared much for exercising. I liked to walk and had always had a vague notion that I might like running, but I never really tried. Instead, my idea of trying to get in shape was to simply
not eat as much and that
works for the first few
pounds. The weight would
always come back and it
steadily increased until I was
over 190lbs.
I was at a crossroads in my life
and I needed to DO something. I
didn’t feel or look good. It
seemed like a completely spur of
the moment decision the day I
walked into Everybodys Fitness Center. I had never joined a gym
before and I wasn t sure I would like it. But there was something about the
people at EFC that made me feel comfortable right away.
After my first 1-on-1 session with a fitness coach, I was discouraged by how
little I was able to do. I couldn't run for more than 30 seconds, 5lb weights were
heavy and how I hated jumping! I was determined to get better and I slowly did.
Each day I saw little improvements. I could run a little longer or do a few more
reps with the 5lb weights, then I was able to do heavier weights. As I got
stronger,I noticed I was losing weight too.
Today, I feel much stronger, physically and mentally than I did when I started at EFC. The variety of classes, training programs and equipment are important, but equally important is the support of the wonderful staff and coaches. Their support has helped me stay motivated enough to lose over 50lbs. I even ran my first 5k last summer and two more since. Thanks so much EFC.
