Discover Two Game Changers for a Healthy Life...
During Christmas break I was spending some time scanning thru Facebook...
I was overcome with all the posts about how everyone was glad 2016 was ending.
This got me to think about how 2016 was for me.
But instead of focusing on any negative stuff...
...I wanted to do the opposite.
I am in the business of helping people change their lives for the better.
So even though it is easy to get sucked into complaining about things, I only wanted to focus on the good stuff.
It was nice to remember good family times but I don’t want to get into that with you.
The reason being, I had discovered two life game changers to help my family and I live a healthier and fit life.
The worst part of this is that I never shared this information on a mass basis.
As I was reflecting on 2016 I knew it was time to hit the keyboard again and get this information out to everyone.
For now I am just going to reveal the first life changer that I discovered.
I will reveal the second in my next blog.
So, what changed my life?
When someone I trust, recommended I read the book
“ Your Body’s Many Cries for Water. You’re Not Sick; You’re Thirsty Don’t Treat Thirst with Medication ” by F. Batmanghelidj, M.D.
It’s a long title for a book, but it says it all.
Of course...
...as a Fitness and Weight Loss Coach I know how important water is for the human body.
What I did not know was just how important water truly is .
This book was an eye opener for me.
It is my hope that each one of you will read this book or if you hate reading get the audio version.
I promise it will change your life for the better.
You will be AMAZED when you learn all the functions of water.
You may also become alarmed to learn what happens to your body when you become dehydrated.
Never mind if you are dehydrated for a long period of time.
All I can tell you is that it isn’t good!
You may be suffering from pain or some chronic disease right now because of it and you don’t even know it.
Unfortunately, our society is always looking for a quick fix.
You’re in pain? Ok take some pain meds to help. But this just masks the issue and doesn’t cure it
Instead we need to focus on finding the true cause of the pain or health issue we are suffering from.
Did you know?…
#1. That the body does not have a reserve of water so the only way to stay hydrated is to drink water? This means just WATER , not sports drinks, tea, coffee or flavored waters like Vitamin Water or Propel.
#2. If you fail to drink enough water, then the body must function on a priority distribution system. In simple terms, this means the body shuts down certain systems to use the water where it is most important. The result? Major health issues!
#3. The brain tries to warn us that we need water by creating pain. If the pain is ignored the intensity increases. As a result, we go to the doctor who prescribes medicine for the pain. But this can cause other side effects and further dehydrate our body. All this when what our body needed was water.
#4. Caffeine depletes the brain of energy. If you repeatedly consume caffeine, it will eventually exhaust the brain. This energy depleting effect is one of the primary causes of Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD). So, no more soda for the kiddos please.
#5
. Diet soda can
CAUSE weight gain!
Pains we may feel due to dehydration are …
- Dyspeptic pain (variety of stomach pain like heartburn, ulcers, indigestion
etc.)
- Rheumatoid pain
- Low back pain
- Angina i.e. chest pain
- Intermittent leg pain
- Migraines
To make matters worse, chronic dehydration, according to the author’s research, has a hand in degenerative diseases such as
- Arthritis
- Asthma
- Hypertension
- Lupus
- MS
- And
adult onset diabetes.
It can also cause stress and depression.
Want to know if you are dehydrated right now?
Do you have dry mouth?
Well then guess what, it’s too late, you are dehydrated.
Another way to tell is to look at the color of your urine.
- Orange = Truly dehydrated
- Yellow = Comparatively dehydrated
- Colorless = Well hydrated Nice Job! :)
These are just some important facts from the book I wanted to summarize for you.
My hope is that you
will take a hard look at how much water you drink and begin to increase
your water intake.
With the cost of health care these days wouldn’t you rather just pick up a glass of water instead of going to the doctor or pharmacy?
Oh, and one of my favorite quotes from this book is...
“The most important factor of survival after air, water and food is exercise .”
And of course, I can help you in that area of your life.
If you read this book, please email me at jenn@efcfit.com and let me know how it impacts your life, I promise it will.
Stay tuned for the other life changer I have for you, this one is HUGE!!!
Til then, Cheers
