Did you know that you shouldn't change your diet for 2019?
Yes, that’s right, you don’t have to change your diet this year to reach your weight loss goals!
Sound crazy?
Well hopefully after I explain why, you will realize it really isn’t all that
crazy.
Let’s start off with what is crazy, have you ever counted how many times you tried a new diet or restarted a diet plan? You got all excited, lost some weight but then something interfered with you following the diet and you stopped. Then you saw some new diet on Facebook or in the news and thought “this is it” so you tried that diet. And on and on.
If this sounds familiar to you, then you have experienced yo-yo dieting and maybe unknowingly discovered that diets don’t work.
For this reason, this year I want you to try something different. Instead of changing your diet, change your lifestyle habits.
How do you do this?
By making small changes, slowly.
If you make major changes to your diet and follow some strict plan, sure you will probably lose weight at first. But ask yourself, can you live the rest of your life eating this way? What happens when….
- You get stressed or overwhelmed from
trying to follow your diet?
- You go on vacation?
- You have to take care of a sick relative/friend?
- You have to work longer hours?
- You get injured or sick so can’t
cook the meals you need to eat on your restrictive diet?
Making drastic changes to your diet will usually fail in the end. Please note, you will not have failed, the diet will have failed you.
So, instead, this year look into a program that will help you make small effective changes to the way you eat, what you eat, as well as how you deal with emotions/stress/time constraints.
